I'm very glad to hear a reply from you Jaime. It does, and I hope this blog post reaches more than you've ever imagined. It's something that could be used to teach generations on how to reflect on history and use it to improve our lives and care for others.

Of course! Please do! I'll try to find your social media & say hi ;) You may tweet me at @earthloveskin. If you do come by, I'd be happy to meet you! You have a home here. See you in Manila soon!

Thank you so much for your comment. This truly made my day to know that this awoke your soul and inspired you. In writing this post that is what I hoped for so thank you so much for your validation. My experience in Cambodia left a lasting mark on my heart and the history is something I believe everyone should educate themselves on. I hope you can make it there someday.

My husband and I travel to Manila frequently for his work. I will for sure reach out on our next visit.

Thank you again. I am truly grateful for your words.

I came here from your post from El Nido, and this wasn't something I expected encountering today (I'm currently in El Nido town and it's 4:51 AM, waiting for sunrise). Reading your blog entry made me tear up inside. Being a Filipino who wishes to help unfortunate children and community and to provide them free education and career assistance, this is something that touches my heart deeply. Poverty in Philippines, especially in far flung provinces are rampant, and most children cannot afford to study up until they get a college degree. Cambodia runs similarly, but this is terrible :( Philippines had also been under a regime, but Cambodia's dark history and methods did break my heart.

Thank you for sharing this post, it's one of those blog posts that have awakened my soul. You have inspired me. Hope you come back to Philippines, and if you do, let me know so I can suggest other places too. Thank you so much again for writing this piece. I look forward to visiting Cambodia to pay my respects.
