Becky I should have mentioned the noise in your room. I forgot because Peter and I were in the back in a peaceful sleep. So glad you did your research because I can speak for myself, I for sure would have been wading in the water. What a trip! I loved it. Working on Cinque Terra. Remember the train ride?!?!

OK, Jaime, your mom is even low key with her comments. Rosemary!!!!!!!!!!! We were so effing lost in Venice when we tried to find that restaurant that we walked an extra 3 miles. LOL! But we did find it. Venice IS a maze. You can't help but get lost. If you plan on visiting Venice, plan on getting lost!!! It is what it is!! A beautiful maze!!! And, yes,the canals are caca water. I do believe we may have been wading through that water if I had NOT been doing a little research on my ipad the night before. Damn technology. It just gives us more information than we need or want. Great job on the blog, Jaime. You pretty much covered it all. I would mention that the bedroom ceiling in our room on the Grand Canal was only 6 feet high. The place was fabulous with an incredible view. My 6'5" husband would have hated it. Rosemary and I loved it. The Grand Canal starts getting busy at about 5:30 a.m. It is like a freeway for the rest of the day. So fun!!!!!! Anyone who goes to Italy needs to go to Venice!

I have only read the first paragraph, and I am laughing out loud. Peter starts peppering you with questions when the book comes out????? How did I NOT ascertain that??? I feel like we are living in parallel universes now that Mike and I are living together "alone" in the desert. LOTS AND LOTS of time together begets LOTS AND LOTS of conversation together. I do LOVE my man. Men, in general, make laugh! NOW back to reading your blog!

Your favorite! That's great, but now the pressure is on to deliver on Cinque Terra and Florence. I do agree that George and his entourage surely sailed past our window. That place was fabulous. I do suppose instead of writing that we weren't really in the mood for a museum, I should have wrote that we were just much more in the mood to sit at an outdoor cafe by the sea, to share prosecco and bruschetta, and of course girl talk. We needed to debrief on Lorenzo for goodness sake.

OKAY.....this going out on a limb but this might be my favorite post of all. First of all, there is just a whole lot going on. But beyond that I just really loved Venice. Maybe it is because it went beyond my expectations. I have to say I was not prepared to enjoy it so much....and despite the crowds, the stores full of junk and at least one mediocre food experience. First of all I absolutely loved our flat. It was fabulous. I'll bet George and his true love sailed right by our window on the way to the wedding. I loved the walking around in the huge maze of streets but never really getting lost. Even the flooding had its own unique style. And lets call it what it was...caca water. Nice try, Jaime, with the "water was disgusting" Your story about the APB on Lorenzo was hysterical. Lauren, she was relentless. Loved our wine at the restaurant on the shores of the Adriatic?....am I wrong? It was all such good fun and your recap is precious. Thanks again and again and again.
